Small Boat Launch

Mission Creek Park has a small boat launch for non-motorized vessels located near the sports courts at 401 Berry Street. There is no public storage available for kayaks or small boats at Mission Creek Park. The small boat launch is open from 6 am - 10 pm.

The kayak shed near the boat launch is utilized by the UCSF Outdoor Programming which conducts kayaking and paddle boarding classes for the general public and private groups. In addition, they offer a limited amount of free classes for youth programs in San Francisco. Classes meet near the kayak storage facility located at 401 Berry Street. Boat Launch Rules

  • Open 6 am - 10 pm
  • Non-motorized watercraft only
  • No attendant on duty
  • Enter/Exit water at your own risk
  • Ramp is slippery
  • Do not tie off to railings or piles
  • No disposal of debris into bay
  • Do not feed wildlife
  • Use of alcohol is prohibited
  • No fishing, swimming or diving from launch
  • Impaired vertical clearance under bridges at high tide
  • Speed limit 5 MPH within 500 feet of shoreline
  • Anchoring is prohibited
  • No unattended vessels
  • Unattended vessels subject to towing and storage fees at owner's expense
  • No washing of boats

Personal Floatation Device - all watercraft must be equipped with a least one United Stated Coast Guard Approved personal floatation device in usable condition for each person on the boat. Children under 12 years of age or younger must wear a personal floatation device.

A special events permit issued by the Park Property Management is required for any individual or group wishing to conduct an organized water sports activity or special event.
